Awarding the 'Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An Journalism Prize 2024'
Out of 122 entries, 108 advanced to the final round, and 42 outstanding works and 4 thematic works were honored and awarded the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An 2024" Journalism Prize.
On the morning of January 18th, in Vinh City, the Organizing Committee of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An 2024" Journalism Award held the award ceremony and launched the campaign to encourage participation in the National Journalism Award on Party Building and the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An 2025" Journalism Award.
Attending the awards ceremony were: Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee: Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and journalist Tran Minh Ngoc - Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association, Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station.
Also attending were representatives from provincial departments and agencies, leaders of media organizations, and journalists from both the local and central levels based in Nghe An province.

In response to the 2024 "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Contest on Party building launched by the Central Committee, and under the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Head of the Steering Committee for the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An" Journalism Award, the Provincial Journalists Association, in coordination with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Department of Information and Communications, issued a document launching the contest and developing the rules, receiving a positive response from numerous reporters, members, and media agencies operating in the province.

At the same time, two groups of journalists were organized to conduct field trips to localities and units within the province to learn about, meet, and exchange ideas with successful models, exemplary practices, and best practices in order to create works for the award.
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An 2024" Journalism Award received enthusiastic support and participation from the entire political system. The organization was meticulously and systematically implemented; publicity was intensified, mobilizing many participating forces; and the judging process was ensured to be independent, objective, fair, and transparent. The quality of journalistic works submitted to the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An 2024" Journalism Award was fairly consistent and balanced across all categories.

Several units and individuals actively participated in the competition, including: Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Song Lam Magazine; Military Region 4 Newspaper, Dan Tri Online Newspaper, Cultural, Sports & Communication Centers of Tuong Duong and Quy Hop districts, and the Propaganda Departments of Tan Ky, Hoang Mai, Quynh Luu, Cua Lo (formerly), Do Luong, and Thanh Chuong districts and towns; the Provincial Border Guard; the Provincial Police; and Nghe An University of Economics.

Notably, this year saw several entries exploring topical themes, such as: the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025; the 500 kV power line project (circuit 3); evaluating the results of administrative reform; and digital transformation. Overall, the majority of entries followed the mainstream "constructive" approach.

Some works demonstrate meticulous research, insightful thought in discovering themes, and creativity in their expression; some works address many good practices, experiences, and the roles and responsibilities of leaders in implementing and concretizing the Party's resolution objectives into life, with a strong emphasis on Party building, closely adhering to the key priorities in information and propaganda work on Party building and rectification, and strengthening the political system in 2024, contributing to political and ideological orientation within the provincial Party committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - congratulated the success of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle - Nghe An 2024" Journalism Award and congratulated the authors and collectives who participated and won awards this year.
At the same time, we acknowledge the contributions of numerous reporters, editors, and leaders of media organizations – those who have contributed directly and indirectly on the information and propaganda "front"; their creative work, dedication, and commitment to everyday life have resulted in the Golden Hammer and Sickle works that impact the public and create a strong social effect, demonstrating love for the Party, for the nation, and responsibility to their homeland.
In the coming period, to further enhance the influence of the Nghe An Province Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award, Comrade Le Hong Vinh suggested that the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee continue to promote publicity, explore, innovate, and organize the award in a systematic and professional manner, so that the Nghe An Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award becomes increasingly attractive in journalistic activities and spreads its vitality strongly, positively influencing and affirming its prestige and stature.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his hope that in 2025, journalists and reporters would continue to actively explore, discover, and create many accurate and relevant topics, expressing their affection for the Party, the people, and their homeland through concrete and practical actions, and through high-quality journalistic works that contribute to Party building, so that the Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award – Nghe An will grow stronger alongside the development of the province. Journalists and reporters are not only soldiers on the media front but also inspire, encourage, and promote a reading culture among the people, especially students in the province during this digital transformation period.
Comrade Le Hong Vinh suggested that Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations at all levels continue to coordinate closely, provide assistance, and create the best conditions for press agencies and journalists to dedicate themselves fully to the work of disseminating information about Party building and the construction of the political system, making it even better.

This year's Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award in Nghe An province received 122 entries across five categories: television, radio, print media, online media, and photojournalism.
The Organizing Committee selected 42 outstanding works to honor and award prizes, including 4 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 13 Third Prizes, 17 Consolation Prizes, and 4 outstanding thematic works on the topic of Party building.
The Steering Committee of the Nghe An Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award has decided to commend 4 collectives and 2 individuals for their outstanding achievements in directing the implementation of the Nghe An Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award in 2024.
Four organizations were awarded: Nghe An Newspaper; Nghe An Radio and Television Station; Do Luong District Party Committee's Propaganda Department; and Quy Hop District Cultural, Sports and Communication Center.
Two individuals were honored: Ms. Ho Thi Ngan - Standing Vice President of the Nghe An Journalists Association; and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Sam, Head of the Secretariat Department of Nghe An Newspaper.
