Award Ceremony for the 12th Nghe An Newspaper Photojournalism Contest 'Golden Moment' and Video Clip Contest
(Baonghean.vn) - After two rounds of judging, the Jury has selected 11 photo works and 9 video clips to award prizes in the 12th Nghe An Newspaper Photojournalism Contest "Golden Moment" and Video Clip Contest - 2023.
On the afternoon of November 10th, the Organizing Committee presented awards to the winners of the 12th Nghe An Newspaper Photojournalism and Video Clip Contest "Golden Moment" - 2023.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Bui Thanh An – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Viet Hung – Director of the Department of Internal Affairs; and representatives of leaders from provincial departments and agencies.
Representing the leadership of Nghe An Newspaper were: Comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief; and Deputy Editors-in-Chief: Tran Van Hung, Tran Huu Nghia, and Nguyen Thi Thu Huong. Also present were former leaders of Nghe An Newspaper and a large number of reporters, editors, staff, and collaborators from various generations of the editorial office.
In response to the need to improve the quality of photographs in the newspaper's publications, the Party Committee and Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper launched and organized the "Golden Moment" Photojournalism Contest, aiming to create a platform for professional and amateur reporters and photographers nationwide.

The "Golden Moment" Photojournalism Contest and the Nghe An Newspaper Video Clip Contest have become an annual tradition, aiming to improve the quality of images in Nghe An Newspaper publications. This is a practical activity to celebrate the annual anniversary of the founding of Nghe An Newspaper and is considered a valuable professional development event for journalists, contributors, and professional and amateur photographers.
The "Golden Moment" photojournalism contest organized by Nghe An Newspaper has gone through 12 seasons, gaining widespread popularity and attracting a large number of photojournalism and video clip enthusiasts both within and outside the province.

Many works that won the "Golden Moment" award at Nghe An Newspaper went on to participate in and win high prizes at national and regional journalism competitions.
The winning entries captured the most beautiful and impressive moments of life in Nghe An province and its surrounding areas; contributing to improving the image quality in Nghe An Newspaper's publications and digital media products; helping Nghe An Newspaper effectively carry out its mission of disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; and guiding public opinion in the province.

The 12th "Golden Moment" photojournalism and video clip contest attracted 74 participants with 1,168 entries. The Organizing Committee and the Judging Panel conducted a serious, systematic, professional, objective, and impartial evaluation process, meticulously judging and awarding prizes to high-quality photojournalism and video clip entries. After two rounds of judging, the Judging Panel selected 11 photo entries and 9 video clips to receive awards.

The first prize in the photojournalism category was awarded to the team of authors Tu Thanh and Thanh Chung for their photo essay: Nghe An successfully performs organ harvesting and transplantation from a brain-dead donor.
The first prize in the Video Clip category went to the team of authors Huy Nhâm - Lê Thắng - Phan Giang - Lê Thành for their work: The Murder of… the Nậm Tôn River.

Second prize was awarded to author Nguyen Duy Son for his work: Fire prevention, firefighting and rescue drill (Firefighting and rescue drill at Ben Thuy Oil and Gas Port). Author Sach Nguyen won with his work: Dawn over the fishing port.
Second prize in the Video Clip category was awarded to the team of authors Dang Cuong - Dinh Tuyen - Dao Tuan for their work: Erecting "no parking" signs: Many Vinh city residents create their own rules; and the team of authors Nhat Lan - Thanh Cuong for their work: Searching for the cause of the change in color of the North Canal.

Third Prize in Photojournalism was awarded to Nhat Thanh for his work: The Sacred Flag of the Fatherland in the Border Region; Vo Thanh Vinh for his work: Construction and Repair of Power Transmission Lines; and Nguyen Xuan Thuy for his work: Perfect Harmony - Two Japanese athletes working together to cross the finish line of the 21km Marathon in the 2023 "Returning to the Land of Folk Songs" competition.
Third Prize for video clips was awarded to the team of authors Dinh Tuyen - Diep Thanh - Bui Hanh for their work: Cua Lo in the eyes of a "foreign resident"; the team of authors Thanh Duy - Thanh Cuong - Pham Bang for their work: Grand view of the newly inaugurated highway through Nghe An with an investment of nearly 7.3 trillion VND; and the team of authors Ngan Hanh - Lam Tung for their work: The epic song of Truong Bon continues to resonate.
The Encouragement Prize for photojournalism was awarded to the team of authors Nhat Lan - Thanh Cuong for their work: "Into the heart of wastewater to find the cause of the North Canal becoming the 'To Lich River'"; author Nguyen Dao for his work: "The Unique Phuc Luc Ngoat Festival"; the team of authors Dinh Tuyen - Thu Huong for their work: "After the flood, the lives of students in Quy Chau in the boarding house area are still in disarray"; author Chu Trong Tuan for his work: "Some images of traditional handicraft labor of Nghe An women"; and author Nguyen Phi Hung for his work: "The road to glory - Nghe An track and field athletes actively training to prepare for the Phu Dong Sports Festival".

Regarding the Video Clip award, the prizes were given to the team of authors Ngan Hanh - Dinh Tuyen - Thanh Cuong for their work: Over 4,000 marathon runners excitedly conquer the most beautiful route in Vinh City; author Nguyen Ke Kien for his work: Running from the flood; and the team of authors Ngan Hanh - Lam Tung for their work: Why do OCOP products from Nghe An face difficulties in participating in the retail system?

At the ceremony, the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper launched the 13th "Golden Moment" Photojournalism Contest and Nghe An Newspaper Video Clip Contest, which begins today (November 10, 2023) and officially closes at 5 PM on October 20, 2024.
