2017 Grammy Awards: Who will win the 'battle' between Beyonce and Adele?
As the 2017 Grammy Awards ceremony approaches, more and more people are thinking about the nominees who have the potential to take home the prestigious music award.
Among these, the most anticipated categories are Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year, categories in which two big names, Beyonce and Adele, are both nominated (alongside the Best Pop Solo Performance category).
Entertainment site E! News has released its predictions for the main awards. While it's fairly certain that Beyonce and Adele will both be nominated, other artists still have a good chance of success and being named the winner of the golden gramophone award.
Potential winner for Album of the Year: Adele, 25
Beyoncé's fans might consider this a controversial choice. However, the fact is that the "English nightingale's" album 25 not only achieved massive sales success (over 8.03 million copies) but also generated so much buzz that the internet crashed whenever tickets for her concerts went on sale.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé's Lemonade only sold 1.05 million copies, although the difference in sales between the two albums is largely not due to quality but because Lemonade was released exclusively through the Tidal streaming service, making it difficult for many fans of the pop superstar (who were already customers of Spotify and Apple Music) to access it.

In terms of social media popularity, Adele is increasingly outpacing Beyoncé on Twitter. The British star has 27.6 million followers, while the American representative has 14.7 million.
Adele's seemingly bold personality, coupled with her candid yet humorous videos, always keeps fans wanting more, which will undoubtedly influence the outcome of the upcoming awards ceremony. Conversely, Beyoncé remains an elusive figure, rarely participating in interviews.
Record of the Year and Song of the Year
Before discussing these two categories, it's necessary to clarify the difference between Record of the Year and Song of the Year. While each category honors a single, the award winners are recognized based on different criteria. Record of the Year celebrates the overall performance and production process, while Song of the Year recognizes the talent of the singer/songwriter behind a song.
Based on the evaluation criteria, Formation appears to be a stronger contender than Hello in the Record of the Year category, while the opposite is true in the race for Song of the Year. Adele's ballad captivated fans with her perfect and powerful vocals, but it couldn't quite match Formation in terms of production investment.
Competing in the Record of the Year category are Justin Bieber's Love Yourself; Lukas Graham's 7 Years; Rihanna's Work; and Twenty One Pilots' Stressed Out. Meanwhile, the nominees for Song of the Year are Justin Bieber's Love Yourself; Lukas Graham's 7 Years; and Mike Posner's I Took a Pill in Ibiza.

This article is simply a prediction from some experts, so we'll have to wait and see what surprises will actually happen when the 59th annual Grammy Awards are broadcast from the US on February 12th (local time).
The Grammy Awards (originally called Gramophone Awards) are a system of awards presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to honor outstanding achievements in the recording industry.
The Grammy Awards are considered the most prestigious awards in the music industry, equivalent to the Oscars in the film industry. The Grammy Awards ceremony is also a highly anticipated event because it usually brings together performances by many world-renowned artists.
