(Baonghean.vn) - The competition aims to evaluate the results of the movement to learn and apply information technology among young people. Through this, it seeks to discover and nurture young talents who can apply information technology to their studies, daily lives, and society, contributing to the development of young human resources to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization of the country.

On the afternoon of May 20th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union organized the Closing Ceremony and Award Presentation for the 29th Nghe An Provincial Youth Informatics Competition, 2023. The Youth Informatics Competition is an annual activity of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee aimed at creating a healthy and beneficial playground and favorable conditions for students to have the opportunity to interact, exchange, and learn from each other's experiences in their studies. At the same time, it promotes the intelligence and creativity of young people in applying information technology, contributing to guiding them in effectively exploiting and applying informatics.

Over the past 28 years, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Informatics Competition has contributed to creating a widespread information technology learning movement among young people throughout the province. The scale, number, skill level, and quality of the contestants have gradually improved. The content and format have also changed over time to suit the development of information technology and the learning and research needs of the students.

This year's Nghe An Provincial Youth Informatics Competition attracted 247 contestants from various districts, cities, and towns, competing in 3 individual categories and presenting 13 innovative products.

Following the opening ceremony on the morning of May 20th, the contestants proceeded to the online examinations for categories A, B, C1, and C2, held at 22 testing locations in districts, cities, and towns, and one location at Vinh University.

The 29th Nghe An Provincial Youth Informatics Competition was meticulously and thoroughly prepared by the Organizing Committee, from the question setting and system connection to the arrangement of technical facilities and the assignment of personnel responsible for the preparation and organization of the competition.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 22 consolation prizes, 15 third prizes, 6 second prizes, and 4 first prizes to individual contestants and groups of contestants in the 6 competition categories.

1. Thai Hai Nam - Class 5A, Herman Gmeiner Primary School, Vinh City, won first prize in Group A.

2. Nguyen Thanh Phu - Class 9D, Dang Thai Mai Secondary School, Vinh City, First Prize, Group B

3. Truong Quang Hoanh, Tran Le Ngoc Tam - Class 11A2, Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School, First Prize in Group C1

4. Nguyen Van Giang - Class 11A6, Quynh Luu 2 High School, Quynh Luu District, First Prize in Group C2.
