Vallet scholarships awarded to 116 excellent Nghe An students

116 Nghe An students with excellent academic and scientific research achievements received Vallet scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year.

On the afternoon of September 4, Vinh University, in collaboration with the Science and Education Organization “Meeting Vietnam” and the Vallet Scholarship Fund, held the Vallet Scholarship Award Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year for Nghe An students with outstanding achievements in study and scientific research.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of provincial departments and branches; and representatives of the Vallet Scholarship Fund and the Fund's coordination board in Vietnam.

On this occasion, 116 excellent students of Nghe An received Vallet scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year; each student scholarship is 29 million VND, each student scholarship is 15 million VND. Among them are many students who won international and national prizes; students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Vinh University High School for the Gifted, students of Vinh University and Vinh University of Technical Education; and students of other high schools in the province.

The Vallet Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 from the voluntary contribution of Mr. Odon Vallet - Doctor of Science in French Law, Professor of Religious History at Sorbonne University, France. The Vallet Scholarship is a large-scale non-governmental scholarship, operating for the past 25 years to help excellent students in Africa, Vietnam and Vietnamese students in France.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Esperan Padonou - Director of the Vallet Scholarship Fund said: In Vietnam, up to now, the Vallet Scholarship has awarded over 55,000 scholarships, with a total value of nearly 500 billion VND to excellent and talented students across the country, especially ethnic minorities and SOS villages; the amount of scholarships has increased steadily every year in both quantity and value. Among them, more than 1,000 students have become excellent doctors, the scholarships have contributed to helping students excel in their studies; at the same time promoting the quality of education in Vietnam in recent times.

Professor Odon Vallet said that he will maintain this scholarship for at least another 100 years. Every year, the Fund will increase the value of the scholarship, with the hope of motivating young people to contribute more to the development of the country./.
