(Baonghean.vn) - On January 7th, the Vietnam Drivers' Brotherhood Association, in coordination with the Sunshine Club, distributed hundreds of gifts to over 400 students at Nhon Mai Primary School (Tuong Duong) and local residents.

Nhon Mai commune is one of the most remote communes in the border district of Tuong Duong. Due to being isolated by the Ban Ve hydroelectric reservoir, the people here have faced many difficulties for many years. Furthermore, it is home to a concentrated population of ethnic minorities such as the Khmu, Mong, and Thai, many of whom still adhere to outdated customs, making life even more challenging.
In particular, Nhon Mai Primary School has 10 school locations, but many of them are now isolated by the hilly terrain and the reservoir of the hydroelectric dam, making travel extremely difficult. Currently, there are still 5 school locations where students have to study in makeshift classrooms made of thatch, bamboo, and leaves.

To encourage the students in this area, on January 7th at Nhon Mai Primary School, the Vietnam Drivers' Brotherhood Association, in coordination with the Sunshine Club, donated over 400 warm jackets. In addition, the group also gave 60 boxes of instant noodles to students in difficult circumstances, along with many other gifts. Furthermore, the group also distributed 100 gift packages containing instant noodles, essential goods, and clothing to 100 disadvantaged households in Nhon Mai reservoir commune. The total value of the gifts exceeded 50 million VND.
