Nhon Mai commune is one of the most remote communes of Tuong Duong border district. Due to being separated by Ban Ve hydroelectric reservoir, people here have faced many difficulties for many years. Along with that, this is the place where ethnic minorities Kho Mu, Mong, Thai ... still live, many backward customs still exist, so life is even more difficult.

In particular, Nhon Mai Primary School has 10 campuses, but many of them are now isolated by mountainous terrain and hydroelectric reservoirs, making travel extremely difficult. Currently, there are still 5 campuses where students have to study in makeshift classrooms made of thatch, bamboo, and leaves.
