Nine senior police officers were promoted to the rank of general.
On the afternoon of September 11th, acting on behalf of the President, General To Lam, member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, presented promotion decisions to the rank of general to nine senior leaders of the People's Public Security Force.

At the ceremony, representatives from the Department of Personnel and Organization (Ministry of Public Security) announced the President's decisions to promote nine senior officers of the People's Public Security Force to the rank of general.
Among the nine senior leaders of the People's Public Security Force promoted to the rank of general officer in this round, two were promoted from Major General to Lieutenant General (Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department and Mr. Le Minh Hung, Director of the Department of Police for Prison Management, Compulsory Education and Juvenile Detention Centers) and seven were promoted from Colonel to Major General (Mr. Le Hong Nam, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police; Mr. Tran Phu Ha, Director of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police; Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Director of the Traffic Police Department; Mr. Pham Ngoc Viet, Director of the Internal Security Department; Mr. Nguyen Van Vien, Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department; Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police; Mr. Tran Hai Quan, Commander of the Guard Command).
Speaking at the ceremony, General To Lam congratulated the comrades who were promoted to the rank of general and affirmed that the decision to promote them to the rank of general once again confirms the maturity and development of the People's Public Security Force. It is a recognition and high appreciation from the Party, the State, and the people for the contributions of the People's Public Security Force and the individuals in the cause of protecting national security.
