Scholarships and Mid-Autumn Festival gifts were presented to ethnic minority students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of September 29th, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, and the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning organized the program "Bridge of Love - Helping Children Go to School," presenting practical gifts to ethnic minority students and those from disadvantaged backgrounds at the beginning of the new school year.
Nghe An province has over 450,000 members of the Youth Union and children's organizations, including more than 10,000 children from disadvantaged families, ethnic minority groups, and poor households. Over the years, Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front Committee, political and social organizations of the province, and many philanthropists, collectives, and individuals have consistently supported and donated millions of gifts worth tens of billions of VND to ethnic minority children, poor students, and children with particularly difficult circumstances, aiming to boost their spirits and motivation to strive for excellence in their studies and personal development.
The young members of the Youth Union and children participating in the "Bridge of Love - Helping Children Go to School" program this time have been sponsored by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning. They have been assigned to affiliated units for care and support. These children are exemplary models of ethnic minority children, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, orphans, etc., who strive to excel in their studies; they are fragrant flowers in the garden of "A Thousand Good Deeds".
In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, President of the Student Association, and President of the Children's Council, emphasized: “The ‘Bridge of Love - Helping Children Go to School’ program in 2023 will take place over two days (September 29-30). The children will have the opportunity to interact and participate in many beneficial and meaningful programs and activities, especially during this Mid-Autumn Festival. At the program, the children experienced a warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere with cultural performances, listened to the Mid-Autumn Festival greetings from the President, and enjoyed lion dances and Mid-Autumn Festival feasts.
On this occasion, the organizing committee awarded 30 scholarships to 30 children with excellent academic achievements in the 2022-2023 school year, along with many Mid-Autumn Festival gifts for all the children participating in the program.
