Over 7,000 households in Quy Hop are excelling in production.

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 22nd, Quy Hop district held a conference to summarize the emulation movement of farmers excelling in production and business during the period 2012-2017, with the participation of 70 exemplary individuals representing 7,120 households of farmers excelling in production and business throughout the district.

Many farmers in Quy Hop have become wealthy with highly efficient agricultural and forestry models.

Attending the conference was Comrade Nguyen Huu Nhi - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Nghe An Farmers' Association.

During the period 2012-2017, the Quy Hop District Farmers' Association mobilized its members to register and participate in the movement; building economic development models suitable to the capabilities of households and maximizing the advantages of the locality. As a result, the movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty, has developed both in breadth and depth, becoming a mass movement in rural areas. On average, 7,000-8,000 farmer households register to participate in the competition each year.

Through evaluations by various levels of the Farmers' Association, in 2016, 7,120 households achieved the title of "Excellent Farmer in Production and Business" at all levels, an increase of 4,640 households compared to 2012; including 63 households at the central level, 237 households at the provincial level, 415 households at the district level, and 6,404 households at the grassroots level. Notably, communes such as Minh Hop, Nghia Xuan, Dong Hop, Tam Hop, Chau Quang, and Van Loi have a high percentage of households registering for and achieving the title of "Excellent Farmer in Production and Business" at all levels.

At the conference, 3 collectives and 21 individuals were awarded certificates of commendation by the District People's Committee; 6 individuals were elected to attend the Provincial Conference honoring exemplary farmers in production and business.
