Customer appreciation: Viettel increases Internet service bandwidth, price remains unchanged

(Baonghean.vn) - All customers using Viettel's fiber optic Internet service will have their capacity upgraded for free to experience the service at a new speed 20-50% higher.

On August 8, 2017, Viettel Telecom Corporation announced that, in order to thank customers for trusting and using Viettel's services, in August 2017, Viettel will complete the free bandwidth upgrade for customers nationwide. This is Viettel's largest bandwidth upgrade ever, conducted on a large scale and applied to all existing customers as well as new customers.

Accordingly, for customers who are using it, Viettel will keep the old package but upgrade the bandwidth for free so that customers can experience the new, higher speed.

Specifically, customers who previously used packages with speeds of 10Mbps or less will be upgraded to 15Mbps, and customers who are using packages with speeds of 10Mbps to 30Mbps will be upgraded by 5Mbps compared to their old speed.

For new connections, customers can choose packages Net1, Net2, Net3, Net4, Net5, Net6 with domestic bandwidth of 15Mbps-20Mbps-25Mbps-30Mbps-35Mbps-40Mbps respectively.

Customers using Viettel's fiber optic Internet service will have their capacity upgraded for free from August 8, 2017.

Before deploying nationwide, since July 2017 Viettel has upgraded bandwidth for customers in the provinces/cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa and Dien Bien.

This bandwidth upgrade is very meaningful in improving the quality of using services and applications on the Internet, especially for applications that require high quality of transmission and bandwidth such as television, video, online learning, online games...

In addition, this bandwidth upgrade by Viettel will contribute to increasing the average Internet connection speed in Vietnam. According to a report published by Akamai, the current average speed in the first quarter of 2017 in Vietnam reached 9.5Mbps, ranking 9th in the Asia-Pacific region.

Along with upgrading bandwidth, Viettel also builds tools to help customers look up subscriber information, update promotional programs and prepay usage fees through free software/applications.

In particular, aiming for a safe internet environment, Viettel recently launched the Safenet service to help users of Viettel's fiber optic internet service control the content they access, creating a safe internet environment for children.
