Customer appreciation: Viettel increases internet service bandwidth, price remains unchanged.

(Baonghean.vn) - All customers currently using Viettel's fiber optic internet service will receive a free capacity upgrade to experience the service at a new, higher speed of 20-50%.

On August 8, 2017, Viettel Telecommunications Corporation announced that, as a token of gratitude to customers who have trusted and used Viettel's services, it will complete a free bandwidth upgrade for customers nationwide throughout August 2017. This is Viettel's largest bandwidth upgrade to date, conducted on a large scale and applied to all existing and new customers.

Accordingly, for existing customers, Viettel will retain their old service packages but will upgrade their bandwidth free of charge so that customers can experience higher speeds.

Specifically, customers who previously used packages with speeds of 10Mbps or less will have their speeds upgraded to 15Mbps, and customers currently using packages with speeds between 10Mbps and 30Mbps will have their speeds increased by 5Mbps compared to their previous speeds.

For new subscribers, customers can choose from Net1, Net2, Net3, Net4, Net5, and Net6 packages with domestic bandwidths of 15Mbps, 20Mbps, 25Mbps, 30Mbps, 35Mbps, and 40Mbps respectively.

Customers using Viettel's fiber optic internet service will receive a free data upgrade starting from August 8, 2017.

Before the nationwide rollout, starting in July 2017, Viettel upgraded bandwidth for customers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, and Dien Bien provinces/cities.

This bandwidth upgrade is very significant in improving the quality of use of services and applications on the Internet, especially for applications that require high transmission quality and bandwidth such as television, video, online learning, online games, etc.

Furthermore, this bandwidth upgrade by Viettel will contribute to increasing Vietnam's average internet connection speed. According to a report published by Akamai, the average speed in Vietnam in the first quarter of 2017 reached 9.5Mbps, ranking 9th in the Asia-Pacific region.

Alongside bandwidth upgrades, Viettel is also developing tools to help customers independently look up subscriber information, update promotional programs, and prepay usage fees through free software/applications.

In particular, aiming for a safe internet environment, Viettel recently launched the Safenet service, which helps users of Viettel's fiber optic internet service control the content they access, creating a safe internet environment for children.
