The first nude photo exhibition in Vietnam

50 photos by photographer Hao Nhien are on display from September 15 to 18 at the City Fine Arts Association.Ho Chi Minh City.

"Right now, my emotions are mixed, both happy and nervous and worried," photographer Hao Nhien shared, while he was busy working at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association to prepare for the opening of the exhibition "Creation", taking place this afternoon (September 15).

The photos in the exhibition were taken by Hao Nhien over the past seven years.

Hao Nhien said that the 50 works on display this time were taken by him over the past seven years. It did not take him long to get permission to exhibit because he had been preparing carefully for a long time. During that process, he consulted many colleagues, trying to reconcile the opinions of the judging panel and his personal artistic eye.

Hao Nhien received great support from his colleagues, including Tran The Phong. Tran The Phong was the one who helped organize the exhibition and apply for permission from Hao Nhien.

Creation is the first nude photo exhibition in Vietnam. Before Hao Nhien, many photographers applied for permission to open exhibitions but were unsuccessful. 10 years ago, Thai Phien applied for permission in Hanoi and Hue but was rejected.

Photographer Thai Phien called the exhibition "Artifacts" a "firecracker" that blew up the barrier separating audiences from nude photography art. "This is the first time a nude photography exhibition has been licensed, which is good news for nude photographers," he said.

Hao Nhien's photo shows part of a woman's body and the model's face is not visible.

Through some of the photos he has seen, Thai Phien assessed that the blocks in Hao Nhien's photos are gentle, the light and dark areas only show part of the woman's body and the model's face is not visible. The leading photographer in nude photography in Vietnam believes that this is one of the reasons why managers agreed to grant Hao Nhien a license.
