Teacher, poet, journalist Nguyen Thi My Dung - who had the opportunity to meet and write many articles and poems about the talented general over the past 20 years confided: “I had the honor of meeting the General for the first time in the spring of 1998. I was moved by the story of the General and the piano by writer Dao Vu, and I had an article published in the Sports & Culture Newspaper. Thanks to that, I had the opportunity to visit the General at his private home. The simple and sincere stories of the many meetings that followed were the inspiration for my articles and poetic songs in the years that followed, even after the General passed away. I was very moved and happy when the Exhibition was held in Quang Ninh and my wish is to inspire the people of the Mining Region to love history, to appreciate the sacrifices of the previous generations, and to nurture and arouse patriotism and revolutionary spirit, especially to show gratitude to General Vo Nguyen Giap both in combat and in daily life”.
With the message of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the outstanding Marshal of the nation but extremely simple, close, and emotional. The General always lives forever in the hearts of the people. The exhibition used 110 poems and ballads composed by Teacher, poet, journalist Nguyen Thi My Dung to recreate the milestones of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu as well as the daily life of the Commander-in-Chief Vo Nguyen Giap and the people's affection for our legendary General.
