Busting a gang of thieves specializing in breaking inter-provincial safes

On the morning of October 16, the Special Criminal Police Team of the Criminal Police Department (PC 45) of Can Tho City Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Nguyen Le Thanh (26 years old, residing in An Cu Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City), Duong Van Tinh (aka Tinh "small", 23 years old), Thai Duc Duy (aka Ty, 21 years old, both residing in Dong Binh Commune, Vinh Long), Luong Minh Phong (aka "little monk", 30 years old, residing in Dong Thuan Ward, Binh Minh Town, Vinh Long) to continue to clarify the act of property theft.

According to PC 45, recently in Can Tho City and neighboring provinces, there have been many cases of burglaries involving breaking into houses and breaking safes to steal property. In early October, PC 45 established a special project and assigned the Special Criminal Police Team to crack down on them.

On October 14, the Special Criminal Police Team arrested the four suspects and many exhibits related to previous thefts.

At the investigation agency, the suspects confessed that in the past, they had successfully broken into dozens of people's houses to break into safes and steal property.

Specifically, in August and September, this gang broke into two houses in Thoi Hoa Ward (O Mon District) and Hung Loi Ward (Ninh Kieu District, both Can Tho City) to break into safes to steal money, gold and other assets such as laptops, cameras, cell phones... worth tens of millions of dong to sell and share.

In addition, the suspects also confessed to having committed other thefts using the same method in the provinces of Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Vinh Long, and Dong Thap.
