Authorities dismantled a football betting ring worth nearly 25 billion VND.
On January 30th, information from the Criminal Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police indicated that the unit, in coordination with the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, had dismantled a gambling ring and betting operation involving football betting with a total transaction amount of nearly 25 billion VND.
In connection with the incident, the police have detained five suspects: Huynh Duong Khai (born in 1993), Nguyen Van Sy (born in 1993), Le Lam Huy (born in 1988), Luong Trong Hieu (born in 1987), and Tran Cong Thien (born in 1998, all residing in Tuy Hoa ward, Dak Lak province).
According to initial information, after a period of monitoring and gathering evidence, on January 26, the Criminal Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police summoned the five suspects mentioned above for questioning to assist in the investigation. At the police station, Huynh Duong Khai initially confessed that in December 2025, he received three login accounts for a football betting website.
Subsequently, Khai divided the main account into several smaller accounts for direct betting. Simultaneously, Khai assigned Sy, Huy, Hieu, and Thien, along with other gamblers, to participate in football betting. From December 2025 to the present, gamblers in this network have been involved.football bettingwith transaction amounts reaching nearly 25 billion VND.
