Authorities dismantled a 315 billion VND gambling ring.
Authorities in Ha Giang province have just dismantled a gambling ring that organized the buying and selling of lottery tickets via telecommunications and the Internet, with a scale exceeding 315 billion VND.
On November 18th, the Ha Giang Provincial Police announced that they had issued a decision to temporarily detain eight individuals for investigation into their involvement in organizing and participating in gambling activities, specifically the buying and selling of lottery numbers via telecommunications and the Internet, on a scale exceeding 315 billion VND.
The detained individuals include: Do Van Kien (born in 1988, residing in Minh Khai Ward, Ha Giang City); Nguyen Kim Nhung (born in 1989, residing in Tran Phu Ward, Ha Giang City); Tran Thi Diep (born in 1985), Dien Thi Nga (born in 1980, both residing in Tan Quang Commune, Bac Quang District); Dong Trung Tuan (born in 1989), Nguyen Thi Nga (born in 1973), To Thi Thuy (born in 1970) and Nguyen Dieu Hoai (born in 1985, all residing in Nguyen Trai Ward, Ha Giang City).

According to the police, at approximately 6:30 PM on November 15th, the Ha Giang Provincial Police caught eight people red-handed and summoned them for questioning regarding their involvement in organizing and participating in gambling activities.
During the arrest and emergency search, authorities discovered and seized 13 mobile phones; 45 tablets, 22 small bags containing white crystals (synthetic drugs); numerous loan documents and notebooks filled with numbers, along with other related evidence.
Investigators have determined that this is a large-scale gambling ring operating through the buying and selling of lottery numbers and online betting, via telecommunications networks and the Internet.

From around the beginning of 2023, the individuals involved conducted transactions exceeding 1 billion VND per day, and the total estimated transaction amount has now reached over 315 billion VND.
