Dismantling a gambling ring using lottery recordings worth more than 800 million VND/day
(Baonghean.vn) - The female leader of the gambling ring had two previous convictions for “Illegal drug trafficking”, so her operations were very sophisticated. In just one day, the total amount of money the subjects used for gambling was more than 830 million VND.
On November 16, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police, announced that under the direct direction of the provincial police leaders, the unit had successfully broken up a gambling case in the form oflot numberlarge scale, arrested 10 subjects with gambling amount of more than 800 million VND/day.

Through the investigation, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police discovered a gambling ring in the form of recording lottery numbers in Vinh city and Do Luong district led by Tran Thi To Nga (born in 1971), residing in Hong Son ward, Vinh city. As a subject with 2 previous convictions for "Illegal drug trafficking", Nga's activities were very sophisticated to deal with the authorities.
Specifically, to operate his gambling line, Nga did not directly receive lottery and lottery boards from his subordinates but hired Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong (born in 2005), residing in Trung Do ward, Vinh city, to trade on Nga's behalf; Nga also stipulated that all gambling transactions of all subjects in the line, from receiving to paying lottery and lottery money, were carried out online via social networks and Internet banking service accounts.
In addition, when it comes to the time to transfer lottery numbers (around 5pm to 8pm every day), the subjects in the network will stay in a house with a surveillance camera system installed to avoid detection by the police and facilitate the destruction of documents and evidence when discovered.

Determining the behavior of the subjects in the gambling ring led by Tran Thi To Nga, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police reported to the provincial police leadership to establish a special project to fight.
During the monitoring process, on November 15, 2022, the Criminal Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Do Luong District Police and related units to simultaneously arrest 10 subjects at 10 lottery and lottery betting points in Do Luong District and Vinh City.
The police seized 15 mobile phones, 8 bank cards and some related evidence; at the same time, it was proven that on November 15, 2022 alone, the total amount of gambling used by the subjects was more than 830 million VND.
Currently, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police is urgently expanding the investigation to arrest the remaining subjects in the gambling ring.
