Authorities dismantled a gambling ring worth nearly 14 trillion VND, seizing two Mercedes Maybach cars.
Authorities mobilized 200 officers and soldiers to simultaneously raid 15 locations related to a large-scale gambling ring worth 14,000 billion VND, seizing 4 cars and many other pieces of evidence.
Room 5 of the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control Department (A05 - Ministry of Public Security) announced that it recently coordinated with the Gia Lam District Police, Hanoi, to dismantle an organized crime ring.online gambling23 people involved are currently being held by authorities for investigation.
Earlier, on the afternoon of November 4th, the Gia Lam District Police, in coordination with the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department (Department 5, Ministry of Public Security), mobilized nearly 200 officers and soldiers to deploy 15 task forces to simultaneously conduct urgent searches at locations in Hanoi, Lang Son, Phu Quoc - Kien Giang, Quang Ninh, and Thai Nguyen - where the suspects resided.

The ringleaders were identified as Pham Cong Anh (42 years old), Hoang Manh Lam (34 years old), and Dinh Van Hoang (36 years old), all residing in Lang Son City, Lang Son Province. Authorities seized 4 cars (2 Mercedes Maybachs, 1 Chevrolet, 1 Mazda CX5) and numerous computers, phones, and bank cards.
Initially, the suspects confessed to organizing and participating in gambling activities on the website http://bxx. According to their statements, this website offered online gambling games with prize payouts such as: Tien Len Mien Nam (Southern Poker), Poker, slot machines, Sic Bo, Xoc Dia (Vietnamese dice game), and fish shooting games, etc.

Players will register an account on the website, then deposit money using phone scratch cards, bank accounts, e-wallets, or contact agents to buy coins (virtual currency).
Authorities identified Cong Anh, Lam, and Hoang as having 42 sub-agents.
According to police statistics, since July 2020, this gambling ring has transacted 14,000 billion VND. The A05 Department assessed this ring as exceptionally large in scale and operating across multiple provinces.
