Dismantling a production and consumption line of nearly 1 ton of inter-provincial fireworks
The Investigation Police Agency has just issued a Decision to prosecute a case of manufacturing and trading in prohibited goods occurring in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, Dong Nai and several other provinces and cities.

This is a large-scale firecracker production and consumption ring, operating inter-provincially, discovered and dismantled by Team 5, Economic Police Department (Hanoi City Police) in coordination with functional agencies.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Team 5, Economic Police Department (Hanoi City Police) discovered that Do Thanh Tan (born 2005, residing in Dong Nai province), Nguyen Quy (born 1995, residing in Dak Lak province) were the main source of selling fireworks from Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province to many subjects across the country.
According to the initial investigation, since 2022, Mai Van Chanh (unknown) and Nguyen Quy have been trading fireworks on social networks. The subjects mainly imported fireworks from abroad through unofficial channels. When customers placed orders, the subjects assigned Do Thanh Tan to create a bill of lading to deliver the goods to customers, through express delivery services. In order to avoid detection from the police, the subjects mainly traded through social networks, paying through cash on delivery services. Afterwards, Tran Anh Tuan (born in 1992, residing in Van Xuan commune, Phu Tho province), Nguyen Van Dai Hiep (born in 1996, residing in Huong Son commune, Hanoi city), Hoang Tu Anh (residing in Viet Hung ward, Hanoi city) ordered a large quantity of fireworks from Quy and Chanh to resell for profit.
During the transportation process, in order to deceive the authorities, the subjects disguised themselves and stuffed the firecracker boxes with old clothes in pineapple sacks. Then, they marked them with their own marks to identify the goods and avoid the pineapple sacks being opened for surprise inspection. After the firecrackers were transported to Hanoi, Hoang Tu Anh asked Nguyen Long Van (born in 1988, residing in Phu Tho province) to receive the goods, but was suddenly raided by the police force to inspect and arrest them.
The Investigation Police Agency, Hanoi City Police urgently searched the residence of Nguyen Long Van and Hoang Tu Anh and discovered a large amount of raw materials for making explosive fireworks. The result was the seizure of more than 750 kg of explosive fireworks, including 706.9 kg of spherical and box-shaped explosive fireworks of 36, 49, 88, and 100 tubes, at locations related to the explosive fireworks trading ring nationwide (including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai Province, Phu Tho Province, and Hanoi City). In particular, the Police Agency seized 44.1 kg of raw materials for producing explosive fireworks, including explosive fireworks, charcoal powder, propellants, and fuses at the residence and warehouse of the subjects.
According to the authorities, all types of explosive fireworks, homemade fireworks, and smuggled fireworks are prohibited. These fireworks contain flammable substances such as potassium chlorate, sulfur, explosive powder, and extremely dangerous fuses. If stored or used incorrectly, they will leave serious consequences due to fire and explosion.
The case is being further expanded and investigated by the police.
