On the evening of March 1, the Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that it had coordinated with the police of districts and towns to successfully destroy a gang that was trading weapons and support tools on the internet, seizing hundreds of guns of various types...
This gang was led by Doan Quoc Thai (born in 1992, residing in Ward 15, District 8) and Tran Ba Loc (born in 1997, from Quang Ngai, temporarily residing in Thoi An Ward, District 12).
During the time of cyber intrusion through social networking platforms Zalo, Facebook, Telegram, the Criminal Police Department's detectives discovered the accounts "Black Panther Airsoft" (Facebook), @baodenairsoft (Telegram), baodenairsoft.com (Web), @baodenairsoft (Youtube) posting ads to sell guns, ammunition and supporting tools on cyberspace for 20 to 30 million VND/gun.

Since the beginning of 2023, Thai has bought hundreds of support tool guns to Vietnam and sold them online to illegally profit nearly 300 million VND.

The Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with the Police of Districts 8, 12, 6, Binh Tan, and Hoc Mon to search many locations; confiscated 230 guns including 3 long guns, 25 short guns, 4,750 bullets of various types, 23 gas cylinders, 2 bullet pressing drills, 3 bags of plastic bullets, 6 bags of metal bullets, 54 ammunition boxes, and many related exhibits.
In 2019, Thai was administratively punished by District 11 Police for storing dangerous toys, but because of greed, Thai continued to commit the above violation. Currently, the Police Department is appraising the seized evidence to handle it according to regulations.
