Authorities dismantled a gambling ring operating under the guise of football betting.

The group involved in organizing and participating in gambling activities.

The group of suspects includes Nguyen Manh Anh (born in 1984) and Ho Duc Tuan (born in 1989), both residing in Rung Thong town, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province; Le Van Dang (born in 1990) and Nguyen Duy Duong (born in 1994), both residing in Dong Khe commune, Dong Son district.

Through investigative work and the handling of a special case, the Criminal Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police determined that Nguyen Manh Anh was in charge of managing an online football betting account. Manh Anh shared the account and instructed gamblers to participate in betting by sending account details and login passwords via text message.

Between the end of June 2024 and the end of July 2024, during the international football tournaments, Nguyen Manh Anh closed accounts for many gamblers and instructed them to access websites to bet on football, including Le Van Dang, Nguyen Huy Duong, and Ho Duc Tuan.

This is a professional gambling ring and organized gambling operation, involving many criminals with numerous previous convictions and criminal records. The gambling activities are organized right in a densely populated area.

The case is still under further investigation.
