Authorities dismantle numerous online gambling rings operating under the guise of coffee shops.

On the morning of December 20th, the police dismantled several online gambling rings and groups, seizing billions of dong and arresting several individuals involved for the crime of "Organizing gambling."

Earlier, the Criminal Police Team of Hue City Police conducted an inspection of a coffee shop located at kiosk 112, Bai Dau apartment complex (Phu Hau ward, Hue City).

Here, the police caught Ha Manh Huy (born in 1988) and Nguyen Van Cong Thanh (born in 1997, both residing on Nguyen Gia Thieu Street, Phu Hau Ward, Hue City) red-handed while organizing gambling in the form of online football betting.

At the time of the raid, Huy and Thanh were organizing 40 betting rounds with a total of 1,328 points, equivalent to over 66 million VND. Initially, the police determined that from December 6th until their arrest, these two individuals had organized online football betting for gamblers with a total amount of approximately 2 billion VND.

Next, the Criminal Investigation Team of Hue City Police conducted inspections of two coffee shops in the area. At the coffee shop located at 153 Tang Bat Ho Street (Tay Loc Ward, Hue City), owned by Truong Nhat Binh (born in 1990), they discovered Binh was organizing gambling activities for customers with a total amount of over 200 million VND in online accounts.

The two suspects, Ha Manh Huy and Nguyen Van Cong Thanh, have been arrested.

At the coffee shop located at 14 Nguyen Ham Ninh Street (Phu Hau Ward, Hue City), the Criminal Investigation Team discovered Nguyen Van Y (born in 1992, residing in Huong So Ward, Hue City) organizing online football betting for two individuals, with a total gambling amount of 166 million VND. Further investigation revealed that from December 6th until his arrest, Nguyen Van Y had organized gambling activities totaling over 516 million VND.

The Hue City Police are currently expanding their investigation into the aforementioned online gambling rings.
