Young man summoned for spreading false information on Facebook.

Based on a murder case that occurred in Vinh Phuc, Cao Thai Duong used his Facebook account to spread false information, causing public panic.

The police in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho province, have summoned Cao Thai Duong (born in 1993, residing in Zone 10, Nong Trang Ward, Viet Tri City) to clarify his actions of spreading false information on the social media platform Facebook.

The subject is Cao Thai Duong.

Accordingly, on July 8th, Duong posted information on his personal Facebook page under the title: "Another beheading murder case in Viet Tri - Phu Tho due to debt for buying a phone." The content of the post was based on the details of a murder case that occurred in Vinh Phuc province on July 3rd, 2017, only changing the names, ages of the victim and perpetrator, and the location of the crime. He then used his personal image to post it on Facebook.

Immediately after the article was published, it received hundreds of views and shares, causing panic among the public and affecting political security and social order in the locality.

On the morning of July 9th, the Investigation Agency of the Viet Tri City Police summoned Cao Thai Duong to clarify his actions in spreading rumors.

At the police station, Duong confessed that after seeing his friends posting articles with untrue content on Facebook for the purpose of teasing each other, he also used a banner app to download pre-written articles, only changing a few pieces of information before posting them on Facebook.

Within an hour of posting, approximately 20 friends had shared the post and called Duong to inquire about the veracity of the incident. At this point, Duong realized the seriousness of his actions and removed the post. However, too many people had already accessed and read the inaccurate information disseminated by Cao Thai Duong.

Currently, the case is being further investigated by the Viet Tri City Police./.
