North Korea suddenly conducts test of new tactical weapon
Kim Jong-un has made his first inspection of a new North Korean tactical weapons testing site since the US-North Korea Summit.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said the new high-tech tactical weapon demonstrates the country's rapidly developing defense capabilities, state media reported on Tuesday, after he personally oversaw the test of a weapon developed by Pyongyang.

According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, the Korean Central Television (KCTV) briefly announced this morning that a new tactical weapon had been "researched and developed for a long time" and had just been successfully tested. However, the source did not mention specific details about what type of weapon had just been tested.
This is the first mention by North Korean media of a new development in the country's weapons program in months.
This is also North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's first visit to a testing site since his unprecedented summit with US President Donald Trump in June 2018, when the two leaders agreed to cooperate towards denuclearization, peace on the Korean Peninsula and to establish new relations between the US and North Korea.
