North Korea has released the seized Russian yacht.

Authorities in Hamgyong province of North Korea informed Russian diplomats that the Russian yacht "Elfin," seized yesterday, has been allowed to leave North Korea, Russian Consul General in Chongjin city Yuriy Bochkarev told Sputnik.

Earlier, he met with leaders of the Hamgyong Provincial Office for Foreign Affairs (SHI) to discuss the case of the detained ship.

"They said they had permission to leave the port and the country, but offered no further explanation," Bochkarev said.

Meanwhile, the weather was unfavorable for the cruise ship to leave Kimchaek port.
