North Korea accelerates building military and nuclear superpower
Leader Kim Jong-un affirmed that North Korea will seriously accelerate the building of a military and nuclear superpower.

According to TASS on October 8, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted leader Kim Jong-un's statement saying that North Korea will seriously accelerate steps to transform itself into a military superpower and a super-strong nuclear force.
On October 7, the North Korean leader visited the National Defense University to mark its 60th anniversary. According to Kim Jong-un, violating the strategic balance on the Korean Peninsula would lead to war. Therefore, North Korea's policy of possessing material means "allowing them to deter the enemy and control the situation is absolutely just."
“Our steps toward becoming a military superpower, a nuclear power, will be even faster,” the North Korean leader asserted.
“The military alliance between the United States and South Korea has completely gone nuclear. In such a situation, we need to maintain our combat readiness at the highest level,” Kim Jong-un added.
He reiterated that North Korea did not rule out the use of nuclear weapons, stressing that Pyongyang “resists the world’s largest nuclear power and its allies who are trying to manipulate us.” Leader Kim Jong-un said that in such a situation, “hope for survival is futile; neither luck nor ‘spirit’ can protect South Korea.”
