North Korea accelerates its development of a military and nuclear superpower.
Leader Kim Jong-un affirmed that North Korea will seriously accelerate the building of a military and nuclear superpower.

According to TASS on October 8, the North Korean central news agency (KCNA) quoted leader Kim Jong-un as saying that North Korea will seriously accelerate its transformation into a military superpower and a super-powerful nuclear force.
On October 7th, the North Korean leader visited the National Defense University to commemorate its 60th anniversary. According to Kim Jong-un, violating the strategic balance on the Korean Peninsula would lead to war. Therefore, North Korea's policy of possessing material means "to deter enemies and control the situation is entirely justifiable."
"Our steps toward becoming a military superpower, a nuclear power, will accelerate even further," the North Korean leader asserted.
Kim Jong-un added: “The military alliance between the United States and South Korea has fully transitioned to nuclear weapons. In such a situation, we need to maintain the highest level of combat readiness.”
He reiterated that North Korea does not rule out the use of nuclear weapons, and stressed that Pyongyang “opposes the world’s largest nuclear power and its allies who are trying to manipulate it.” Leader Kim Jong-un stated that in such a situation, “hope of survival is futile; neither luck nor ‘spirit’ will protect South Korea.”
