A group of thieves broke into the house of the commune's police chief in the middle of the night to steal property, but were beaten severely by the villagers.

On July 20th, the Thuy Nguyen District Police are holding three suspects along with the vehicle used in the crime for investigation into a property theft case.
At approximately 2:00 AM on July 19th, three young men traveling in a car with a Quang Ninh license plate to Hai Phong broke into the home of Mr. Do Van Tuyen, the Chief of Police of Gia Duc commune, Thuy Nguyen district, and stole property.
Mr. Tuyen said that it was raining heavily at the time, and his family was asleep when they were suddenly woken up by people shouting "thief, thief!"Upon opening the door, he discovered that the two motorbikes inside the house had disappeared, and the gate had been broken open.
TThe head of the commune's police ran out onto the road and saw a black Hyundai Accent with a Quang Ninh license plate heading towards National Highway 10; two motorbikes were left abandoned on the road.
Mr. Tuyen and other villagers chased after the car on motorbikes. Due to the rain and poor road conditions, the thieves' car crashed into the roadside at the edge of the commune and broke down. Three thieves were apprehended.They were caught and beaten severely by the villagers, with one of them having to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
