At around 2:00 a.m. on July 19, three young men drove a car with a Quang Ninh license plate to Hai Phong, broke into the family of Mr. Do Van Tuyen - Chief of Police of Gia Duc Commune, Thuy Nguyen District, and stole property.
Mr. Tuyen said that at that time it was raining heavily, the family was sleeping when suddenly they heard people shouting "thief thief" and woke up.Opening the door, he discovered that the two motorbikes in the house had disappeared, and the gate was broken open.
TThe commune police chief ran out into the street and saw a black Hyundai Accent with Quang Ninh license plate heading towards Highway 10; two motorbikes were left on the road.
Mr. Tuyen and the locals chased the car on motorbikes. Due to the rain and the degraded road, the thieves' car drove to the entrance of the commune, crashed into the roadside and died. The three thieveswas arrested, beaten by the people, one of whom had to be hospitalized.
