On the afternoon of November 15th, the Investigation Police Department of Hue City (Thua Thien Hue province) announced that it had issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and apply preventive measures against Duong Tri Phat (born in 1999, residing in Cam My commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province) for the crime of "theft of property".
Earlier, at around 2 AM on November 12th, Phat was wandering around on foot, taking advantage of people's carelessness in Hue City to commit theft. When passing by the house of Ms. N.TT.K in the Villa An Dong area, An Dong ward (Hue City), Phat spotted a sports bicycle in the yard, so he climbed over the wall and broke in to steal it.
After stealing the motorbike, Phat rode it over the fence and then rode it back to his rented room at 5 Nguyen Huu Canh Street, An Tay Ward (Hue City) to hide it, but he was discovered and the motorbike was confiscated by the police.
Using similar tactics, Phat successfully stole seven sports bicycles in the past. After stealing all the bikes, Phat posted them for sale on social media at cheap prices to get money for his expenses.
