After committing crimes in Da Nang and then fleeing abroad for over two years, three particularly dangerous fugitives have been arrested.

On January 31st, the Da Nang City Police announced that they had successfully apprehended three particularly dangerous fugitives in connection with a case of intentional infliction of injury that occurred in Da Nang, in coordination with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Royal Thai Police.

According to the police, at approximately 8:20 AM on July 7, 2023, on Phan Dang Luu Street (Da Nang City), Mr. N.D.H. (born in 1985, residing in Da Nang) was walking when an assailant approached him from behind and slashed his thigh with a knife, causing injuries amounting to 50%. After committing the crime, the assailant was driven away from the scene on a motorbike by an accomplice.

Through investigation, authorities determined that the incident stemmed from a business dispute. Pham Chien Thang (born in 1974, residing in Hai Phong City) directed a group of individuals with criminal records to plan the use of violence to pressure Mr. N.D.H. into making concessions in their business dealings.

Duy was the one who directly used a weapon to attack the victim, while Viet was the one who drove Duy away.

Following the incident, authorities initiated legal proceedings and detained Thang, Anh, Hung, and Viet for investigation into the crime of intentional infliction of injury. Duy, Vu, and Huyen fled and are wanted as particularly dangerous fugitives.

Having identified the fugitives hiding in Thailand, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police coordinated with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Royal Thai Police to organize the arrest.

On January 22, 2026, authorities arrested Vu and Huyen in Pattaya City. Subsequently, under intense pressure to apprehend them, Duy surrendered.

The three individuals were deported from Thailand and handed over to the Vietnamese police for further investigation and prosecution.
