In 45 days, Tuong Duong district built and renovated more than 1,140 houses for the poor.

On the afternoon of April 16th, the Steering Committee for Mobilizing and Supporting Housing Construction in Tuong Duong District held a preliminary review of Phase 1 of the "90 Days and Nights" Campaign to build and repair houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in 2025.

From March 1st to April 15th, 2025, the "90 Days and Nights" campaign to build and repair houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties throughout Tuong Duong district has started construction on 1,141 houses, achieving 68.6% of the total needs of the entire district (384 new houses built, 757 houses repaired). Four communes have completed 100% of their housing construction targets for the poor, including: Tam Quang (37/37 houses); Xa Luong (21/21 houses); Nhon Mai (78/78 houses); and Mai Son (147/147 houses).

The total number of completed and occupied houses in the entire district is 485, including 70 newly built houses and 415 renovated houses.

The district mobilized 6,165 man-days to help households dig foundations, level the ground, transport materials, build houses, and roof them… Among them, units that did well in mobilizing forces and people to contribute labor days included: Luong Minh, Xa Luong, Yen Na, and Yen Hoa communes…

The conference summarizing phase 1 recorded 17 discussion points from delegates. These points focused on clarifying the difficulties and obstacles encountered in the implementation of housing construction and repair support for poor households in the district. Specifically, they highlighted challenges related to terrain, the fact that many villages are located in remote areas with difficult transportation, affecting the transport of construction materials and construction progress, high material costs, and the difficulty for many families to raise matching funds.

Entering phase 2 of the campaign, Tuong Duong district is determined to complete the construction and renovation of the remaining 522 houses by April 30th (184 new houses and 338 renovated houses).

The total housing construction and renovation needs of Tuong Duong district in 2025 are 1,663 houses (568 new houses and 1,095 renovations). Specifically, the socialized housing program will implement 634 houses (239 new houses and 395 renovations); the national target program for poverty reduction will implement 979 houses (318 new houses and 661 renovations); and the housing support program for people with meritorious services to the revolution will implement 50 houses (11 new houses and 39 renovations).

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Le Van Luong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the District Party Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the decisive involvement of the Party committees, government, mass organizations, and all sectors of the people in implementing Phase 1 of the "90 Days and Nights" campaign to eliminate dilapidated and leaky houses for the poor. Comrade Le Van Luong also requested that the Party committees, government, and Fatherland Front of the communes and towns continue to consider this an important task that needs to be actively implemented.

Members of the Steering Committee at all levels will continue to closely monitor the situation at the grassroots level, strengthening guidance and leadership in implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district to achieve progress and effectiveness; strengthening coordination between the government, agencies, units, departments, and the Fatherland Front in implementing the work of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; strengthening propaganda on the content of support policies, the meaning and role of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households; promptly providing support, resolving difficulties and obstacles, and creating favorable conditions for households to receive support, meeting the requirements according to the schedule.
