Mr. Hoang Dinh Viet's family, in Hamlet 8, Khai Son Commune, Anh Son, has been growing bananas for decades. Currently, his family grows more than 100 banana trees, earning an annual income of 20 to 25 million VND.

Bananas grown on Khai Son land have even, beautiful fruit, and are purchased by traders from places like Do Luong, Vinh, and Dien Chau. Especially on weekdays, Khai Son bananas are very popular.

Khai Son people sell bananas right in their garden. A bunch of bananas sells for 400-700 thousand VND.

The banana tree has the advantage that its stems, leaves, fruits and flowers are all useful and consumable.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Phiet, a banana grower in village 8, Khai Son, he said: Just need to plant seedlings, fertilize once and weed periodically to be able to harvest fruit all year round, without having to spend extra money on fertilizer and pesticides like other crops. Therefore, bananas grown in Khai Son are clean bananas that are favored by the market.
