Organic rice farming yields high economic returns in Nghe An, the "rice-growing homeland".
(Baonghean.vn) - The model of applying unmanned rice transplanters, agricultural drones for crop care, and organic rice production in Yen Thanh district this spring has brought significant economic benefits compared to traditional rice cultivation methods, with profits increasing by more than 10 million VND/ha compared to areas outside the model.
On the morning of May 6th, at the Bo Rao field in Thach Son hamlet, Van Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district), the Yen Thanh District Agricultural Service Center, in collaboration with Dai Thanh Joint Stock Company, organized a demonstration of the application of Clobalcheck technology: using unmanned rice transplanters, agricultural drone-based crop care, and organic rice production. Representatives from several agricultural service cooperatives in the district attended the workshop.

The model was implemented on the GS999 hybrid rice variety, on a 1-hectare plot, by one farming household. During the planting and cultivation process, unmanned equipment for transplanting, fertilizing, and spraying pesticides was applied, resulting in more uniform rice growth and increased yield.
The outstanding characteristics of this model are its disease-resistant rice variety; a growth period of 123-127 days; long panicles with many grains, overlapping grains, and a high percentage of filled grains. Under unfavorable weather conditions like this year, the model's yield is likely to reach 75 quintals/hectare.

The model using automated rice transplanters, fertilizer application, and pesticide spraying by agricultural aircraft has yielded significant economic benefits compared to traditional rice cultivation methods, with profits increasing by more than 10 million VND/hectare compared to areas outside the model.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Vice Chairman of the Yen Thanh District People's Committee, there are currently 6 rice production models in the district applying unmanned rice transplanters, agricultural drones for crop care, and organic rice production in the communes of Van Thanh, Long Thanh, Cong Thanh, Minh Thanh, Lien Thanh, and Hong Thanh; with a total area of nearly 100 hectares. All models have yielded clear economic benefits, therefore, the district is directing localities to increase their application in more and more areas.

This result contributes to raising awareness and encouraging farmers to change their traditional production methods and mindset towards "Applying smart technology in production."organic rice production"This aims to free up labor, contribute to increasing income for rice farmers, and move towards a modern and sustainable agricultural production system."
