Mr. Hai said that his family has 4 sao (approximately 0.4 hectares) of land for commercial vegetable production. After researching several vegetable varieties online, he decided to cultivate dried water spinach on nearly 1 sao of land. Because the vegetable prefers cool weather, he applied a technique of using shade nets for cultivation. After trial planting and successful results, he affirmed that this vegetable variety can be developed and widely grown in the locality.
"The locality has an advantage in producing a variety of commercial vegetables, however, some types are not widely available on the market, so I researched and brought dried celery seeds to cultivate. After two seasons of cultivation, the celery has grown well, and when it's time to harvest, companies have contacted me to buy it all," Mr. Hai said.

To grow dried celery at an altitude of 35-37 degrees Celsius, Mr. Hai's family invested tens of millions of dong to buy iron pipe frames, protective netting, and dozens of automatic sprinkler systems. After completing the soil preparation and sowing the seeds, the crop can be harvested after about 50 days.
Currently, Mr. Hai's dried celery garden is beginning to be harvested, yielding 2 tons per sao (approximately 1000 square meters). Because this is a difficult vegetable to grow in the summer, the supply is very scarce; currently, celery sells for 23,000 - 25,000 VND/kg, meaning he expects to earn over 40 million VND per harvest. He can produce celery 3-4 times a year.
