On October 12, 2015, a Eurocopter EC130 civilian helicopter crashed into a lake in Sumatra, Indonesia. The aircraft belonged to the Penerbangan Angkasa Semesta transport company. There were 5 people on board: 1 pilot, 1 technician and 3 passengers.

Rescuers later found a man clinging to a tree in the middle of the lake. He said the five people on board the plane had jumped into the lake after the plane had problems and started to fall.

On January 17, 2016, an Airbus EC130 T2 helicopter with registration number NV11VQ made an emergency landing and crashed on a beach in the west of Hawaii after receiving an engine power warning. One pilot and two passengers suffered minor injuries, while four other passengers suffered serious injuries. This was a tourist aircraft operated by Blue Hawaii Helicopter.

The pilot recounted that after hearing the engine failure warning, he immediately flew towards the beach, decided to slow down and cut the engine to make a “hard landing” on the beach. In addition to the injured passengers, the plane was also severely damaged.

The EC130 T2 helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters is one of Airbus's most modern single-engine helicopters. This morning, October 18, an EC130 helicopter carrying 3 pilots crashed in Vung Tau, and search and rescue efforts are still underway.
