On October 12, 2015, a Eurocopter EC130 civilian helicopter crashed into a lake in Sumatra province, Indonesia. The aircraft belonged to the transport company Penerbangan Angkasa Semesta. There were five people on board: one pilot, one technician, and three passengers.

Rescue workers later found a man clinging to a floating tree trunk in the middle of the lake. He said that all five people on board had jumped into the lake after the plane experienced problems and began to fall.

On January 17, 2016, Airbus EC130 T2 helicopter, registration number NV11VQ, made an emergency landing and crashed on a beach on the west coast of Hawaii after receiving an engine power warning. The pilot and two passengers sustained minor injuries, while four other passengers were seriously injured. This was a tourist helicopter operated by Blue Hawaii Helicopter.

The pilot recounted that after hearing the engine malfunction warning, he immediately flew towards the beach, decided to apply slow braking and cut the engines to make a hard landing. Besides the injured passengers, the plane also suffered significant damage.

The EC130 T2 helicopter, manufactured by Airbus Helicopters, is a single-engine helicopter and one of Airbus's most modern aircraft. This morning, October 18th, the EC130 helicopter carrying three pilots crashed in Vung Tau. Search and rescue operations are underway.
