Did a Russian Mi-24 helicopter encounter an unidentified flying object?

A Russian Mi-24 military helicopter encountered an unidentified flying object directly over Moscow's airspace. The approach was dangerously close, but no collision occurred.

According to RIA FAN on January 2nd, citing an anonymous source in a Russian air traffic control agency, the incident occurred on December 12, 2016, but the information has only now been revealed.

Accordingly, a Mi-24 helicopter was flying along the route Sochi - Rostov-on-Don - Voronezh - Chkalovsky, towards Moscow airspace, when an unidentified flying object suddenly lit up at a distance of about 2km from the Mi-24.

The object then changed direction towards the Mi-24, moving at high speed, and within seconds was approaching the Mi-24 to a dangerous level.

The source also stated that no collision occurred and there were no casualties in the unexpected incident.
