Military helicopter crashes into Japanese residential area
A Japan Self-Defense Forces (SDF) helicopter crashed into a residential area in Saga prefecture, police said.
NHK reported that the incident occurred in Kanzaki city. The helicopter involved was a Boeing AH-64 attack helicopter, assigned to a base in Kumamoto prefecture.

According to the Kanzaki City government, a house near the kindergarten caught fire after the helicopter crashed. Fortunately, no students were affected, the kindergarten principal said.
Currently, the city government has dispatched staff and firefighters to investigate the situation.
Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said he was aware of the accident and said he wanted to confirm the information in order to respond appropriately.
