At 9:00 AM, athletes Hoang Quy Phuoc (50m freestyle), Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Mai Thi Linh (400m individual medley), Pham Thanh Bao (200m breaststroke), Le Thi My Thao, Nguyen Kim Son, and Nguyen Huy Hoang competed in the men's 400m freestyle. The swimming finals began at 6:00 PM on the same day.

Also at 9:00 AM, at the JSC shooting range in Palembang, Vietnam's top shooter, Hoang Xuan Vinh, will compete in the qualifying round of the 10-meter air pistol event. This is the same event in which the shooter from Quang Tri province won a gold medal and set an Olympic record with 202.5 points in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Shooter Tran Quoc Cuong will also participate alongside Hoang Xuan Vinh.

In Wushu, Vietnamese sports also have a chance to compete for medals with hopefuls Duong Thuy Vi and Pham Quoc Khanh. The female martial artist from Hanoi will participate in the women's spear final. Afterwards, her total score from the sword event on the first day of competition will be used to calculate her overall ranking. This event starts at 11:00 AM.

In the Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) event, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy and Chu Thi Thuy Hang competed in the quarterfinals of the women's 52 kg and 60 kg weight categories. Meanwhile, Bui Truong Giang participated in the men's 56 kg category, and Nghiem Van Y competed in the men's 60 kg category.
