On the morning of June 30th, administrative units nationwide simultaneously held ceremonies to announce resolutions and decisions from the Central and local authorities regarding the merger of administrative units, the establishment of Party organizations, and the appointment of Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces, cities, wards, communes, and special zones.
From July 1st, with the implementation of the two-tiered local government model, the country will have 34 provinces and cities with 3,321 commune-level administrative units.
