The meeting between the two leaders of the US and North Korea is being considered at several locations, including the Joint Security Area in the truce village of Panmunjeom.

"Locations like Switzerland, Sweden, or Jeju Island have attracted a lot of attention (as potential venues for a meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un), but we are also seriously considering the Joint Security Area (JSA),"YonhapAccording to an official from South Korean President Moon Jae-in's office, as reported today.
The Joint Security Area (JSA) is located in the truce village of Panmunjeom, on the demarcation line between North and South Korea. This area has witnessed numerous negotiations between Seoul and Pyongyang since the end of the Korean War (1950-1953).
"If North Korea and the United States, both parties directly involved in the agreement, hold a summit in Panmunjeom, it would be significant in transforming a symbol of division into a symbol of peace," the official added. However, the location of the meeting will still be discussed in more detail between Washington and Pyongyang, taking into account other factors, particularly security.
