"I don't know if I like him. I think I don't, but actually I do. I like him very much," U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview with the New York Times on November 22.
During his campaign, Trump threatened to reverse many of the initiatives championed by President Barack Obama. He called Obama a failed leader, unfit to be president for months.
Obama, a Democrat, met with billionaire Trump, a Republican, in the Oval Office on November 10th, two days after his election victory. According to Trump, Obama spoke about what he considered to be the biggest problems in America.
"I had a great meeting with President Obama," Trump said. "I really liked him. He said very nice things after the meeting and I said very nice things about him."
President Obama, who had attacked Trump while campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, stated that he would set aside differences to ensure a smooth transition of power and protect a pillar of American democracy.
