(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 23, Infantry Regiment 335, Division 324 (Military Region 4) organized a river crossing in the Battalion-level live-fire exercise at the end of 2016.

In combat conditions, the river surface was nearly 180 meters wide, nearly 5 meters deep, with fast flowing water. The situation required the 5th Infantry Battalion and the artillery companies of the 335th Regiment to secretly cross the Giang River (Thanh Chuong - Nghe An) by swimming in packs, swimming with weapons and taking advantage of the terrain and terrain such as: swimming across the river with infantry weapons, making rafts with trees.

After more than 1 hour of tight command organization and coordination between units, more than 670 officers, soldiers with guns, ammunition, military equipment, and combat vehicles crossed the river absolutely safely, without having to support rescue, achieving the set goals and requirements. In particular, combat weapons included heavy firepower, such as: mortars of all kinds, anti-aircraft machine guns.
