China affirms support for Russia in maintaining national stability
China's Foreign Ministry on June 25 announced its support for Russia in maintaining national stability regarding the incident involving the private military corporation Wagner.
The above statement was made by a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evening of June 25. According to information on the ministry's official website, the spokesperson affirmed that the Wagner Group's riot "is Russia's internal affair. As a friendly neighbor and comprehensive strategic cooperative partner in the new era, China supports Russia in maintaining national stability and achieving prosperous development."

On the same day, the Chinese Foreign Ministry also published a press release about the meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang as well as the consultation between Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko in Beijing.
According to information from the Chinese side, at the meeting with Foreign Minister Qin Gang, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern. Meanwhile, at the consultation between the two Vice Ministers, Mr. Ma Zhaoxu emphasized that “in the face of the complex and fierce international situation”, the two sides need to “exchange information in a timely manner, ensure the steady progress of bilateral relations, and protect the common interests of both sides”, under the guidance of the important consensus reached between the two heads of state. The two sides also discussed the Ukraine crisis.
The visit of a senior Russian diplomat to Beijing took place right after the riot by the private military group Wagner and this was Beijing's first reaction to this event./.
