China will temporarily suspend additional tariffs on US goods
China announced on November 5 that it will temporarily suspend additional tariffs on some imported goods from the US, starting from 1 p.m. on November 10.

China's latest move is part of efforts to implement the results of recent China-US economic and trade consultations, according to the Global Times, an official statement from the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council said.
"In order to implement the results of the economic and trade consultations between China and the United States, China will temporarily suspend the imposition of additional tariffs," said a notice from the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on the imposition of additional tariffs on some imported goods originating from the United States. The decision will take effect from 1 p.m. on November 10, 2025.
The document noted that the continued suspension of certain tariffs contributes to the healthy, stable and sustainable development of bilateral trade and economic relations, benefits the people of both countries and promotes global prosperity.
On the same day, China also announced adjustments to additional tariffs on some imported goods from the US. According to the announcement, the 24% additional tariff on imported goods from the US will be suspended for one year, while the 10% additional tariff will remain in place.
China's Ministry of Commerce previously reported that after talks with China in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the United States decided to lift the 10% "fentanyl tariff" on Chinese goods, and the 24% reciprocal tariff on Chinese goods will be suspended for another year. China will also adjust its retaliatory measures.
On October 30, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met at Gimhae Air Base in Busan, South Korea. After the meeting, the two sides reached a one-year trade agreement. Specifically, the US reduced tariffs on Chinese goods from 57% to 47%, while reducing tariffs on fentanyl from 20% to 10%.
