"Mid-Autumn Festival of Love" for underprivileged children
On the afternoon of September 20th, the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund organized the "Loving Mid-Autumn Festival" program for 2026, with the participation of 200 children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The program was attended by representatives from the Department of Health, relevant agencies and units, local authorities, organizations, businesses, sponsors, philanthropists, and representatives from childcare and education facilities.
Among the 200 children participating in the program, 55 are from the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund's assistance programs; 65 are from 10 specialized centers and facilities; 30 are from disadvantaged backgrounds in Truong Vinh ward; 20 are from the Provincial Social Work Center; 20 are from the Provincial Center for Education and Vocational Training for People with Disabilities; and 10 are from the Provincial Children's Protection Center.
At the program, the children participated in many Mid-Autumn Festival activities such as lion dance, interaction with Uncle Cuoi and Sister Hang, musical performances, games, quizzes, gift giving, and enjoying the Mid-Autumn feast. This is a highlight activity in the "Loving Mid-Autumn Festival" program series in 2026, organized by the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund, in coordination with agencies, units, localities, and sponsors, implemented in September. The activities are aimed at children with special circumstances, children with disabilities, children with autism spectrum disorder, children undergoing treatment, children from disadvantaged families, and children in mountainous areas.
On this occasion, in conjunction with the program at the Provincial Children's Protection Fund, the "Mid-Autumn Festival in the Village" program, part of the Blue Dragon Project, is being implemented in six mountainous communes: Yen Na, Huu Kiem, Nga My, Chieu Luu, Cam Phuc, and Luong Minh. With a total budget of 206 million VND funded by Blue Dragon International, the program is expected to provide 150 cash grants of 500,000 VND per child; and will also organize cultural activities, lion dances, games, and awareness campaigns on children's rights and the prevention of human trafficking in the project areas.
At the Nghe An Children's Protection Center - a planned Mid-Autumn Festival event on September 22nd - along with activities celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and distributing 120 gifts to children under the center's care, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund also coordinated visits and gift-giving to sick children and children in difficult circumstances at the Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, Nghe An Lung Hospital, and other localities and social welfare facilities.
Through this series of activities, resources are focused on directly supporting children in special and difficult circumstances, creating conditions for them to play, socialize, and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Through this, the Nghe An Provincial Children's Protection Fund continues to connect agencies, organizations, businesses, sponsors, and philanthropists to work together to care for children in the province.
