Defender Que Ngoc Hai hopes the Vietnamese national team will win the AFF Cup.
Central defender Que Ngoc Hai hopes the Vietnamese national team will succeed at the 2024 AFF Cup, thereby bringing joy to Vietnamese fans.
On the afternoon of October 7th, the Vietnamese national team continued their training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. Notably, this training session marked the return of central defender Que Ngoc Hai, who has also recently been entrusted by the coaching staff with the captain's armband for the Vietnamese national team during the FIFA Days international friendly matches in October 2024.
Sharing his feelings about returning to the role of captain of the Vietnamese national team, Que Ngoc Hai said: "Honestly, whether I'm in the leadership committee or not, I'm still a member of the team. The most important thing is that I get to play and contribute to the national team."

"As an experienced player on the team, I need to share my knowledge with the younger players, in addition to focusing on my own training. It's not just me; all the experienced players on the team must strive to share, impart, and guide the younger players to create a better national team."
Previously, due to not being fully fit, the central defender from Nghe An was unable to train with his teammates. Ngoc Hai stated: "I suffered a minor injury after 4 matches in the V-League; the injury is not too serious. Today, I was able to return to training with the whole team."
Speaking about the upcoming match against Nam Dinh Club, the captain of the Vietnamese national team said that every match is important.
"Which players get to play in the upcoming matches is at the discretion of the coaching staff and the head coach. I, and all the players, will try our best and make every effort to contribute to the national team."

Every national team match is important, Coach Kim shared, reminding me personally about my injury. If I'm ready and in good physical condition, I will still play with the team. The fact that Lebanon couldn't come to play is something nobody wanted; the Vietnamese national team needs more matches to test many players. But anyway, Nam Dinh Club is the reigning V-League champion and is also competing in the AFC. Nam Dinh is the highest quality team in the V-League, so playing against them is logical."
Que Ngoc Hai also shared his thoughts on the responsibilities of the Vietnamese national team's leadership: "As I shared, what the coaching staff most wants from experienced players like myself, Van Quyet, and Hung Dung is to create cohesion among the players. Because at this time, the team has many young players. Connecting experienced and young players within the team is extremely important internally, in order to achieve the immediate goal, especially the ASEAN Cup."
Regarding his recent situation playing as a right-sided center-back, Ngoc Hai stated that every player has to adapt: "Adaptation is nothing surprising. In a three-center-back formation, I played in all positions in that formation in 2018, so it wasn't too difficult for professional players in the national team to adapt. Whatever position the coach assigns, you have to adapt as quickly as possible."

Sharing his plans for this year's AFF Cup, Que Ngoc Hai also expressed his strong determination. "My team and I hope that the Vietnamese national team will succeed in the upcoming AFF Cup. Recently, the team hasn't had good results. We want to bring joy to the fans at the end of this year."
Finally, the captain of the Vietnamese national team expressed his wish for the fans to come to the stadium to support the team. "The fans in Nam Dinh love football very much. Football is the culture of the people of Nam Dinh. We hope that when the national team comes here to play, we will receive enthusiastic support from the fans of Nam Dinh. We will try our best to show the best of the Vietnamese national team in the upcoming match at Thien Truong Stadium."
