The VFF Disciplinary Board has officially punished Tang Tien. The HAGL defender was banned from playing for 5 matches and had to pay a fine of 25 million VND after fouling Do Duy Manh.

Previously, the Disciplinary Board had imposed a temporary suspension of one match on this player. Along with that, Tang Tien also had to pay a fine of 25 million VND. This player has the right to appeal to VFF if he wants to change his penalty.

Tang Tien's foul on Duy Manh took place in the V.League make-up match on April 5. During a tackle, Tang Tien kicked Duy Manh's shin, causing the U23 Vietnam midfielder to bruise his muscles and be out of action for 10 days. The referee immediately showed a red card and sent Tang Tien off the field.

That same night, HAGL spoke up. Through team leader Nguyen Tan Anh, Mr. Duc declared Tang Tien’s actions “unacceptable” and suspended the player until the end of the first leg. Mr. Duc’s response created a lot of mixed opinions in public.

Many experts and former players believe that HAGL's internal punishment for Tang Tien is too harsh. They believe that Tang Tien's dangerous tackle is true. But that was a situation that happened at high speed, Tang Tien did not intend to take down Duy Manh. Duy Manh himself also believes that the punishment for Tang Tien is too harsh.

In addition to the penalty for Tang Tien, VFF also fined the Hang Day Stadium Organizing Committee 40 million VND for allowing flares and bottles to be thrown onto the field during the match. Hanoi FC also has the right to appeal this penalty.
