At 8:30 p.m. on July 14, Mr. Luong Van Thanh (34 years old), residing in Son Tien commune, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh), on his way to his wife's hometown in Nghi Hoa commune, Cua Lo town, went to the ATM of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Viettin Bank) in Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc to make a transaction.
Here, after checking the current account in his personal ATM card, which had 75 million VND, Mr. Thanh withdrew 5 million VND in cash and hurriedly left. After realizing that he had forgotten his card, he returned to the place where he had withdrawn the money but could not find it. He went to the customer service address to ask for advice, but because it was a holiday, the bank was closed, so he had to contact the switchboard to make an appointment to come back early in the week to resolve the issue.

At the time Mr. Thanh forgot his card, Major Nguyen Sy Hai went to the ATM booth in Cua Lo town to make a transaction. Before making the transaction, Mr. Hai saw 5 million VND from the ATM and the ATM card at the machine. For a moment, Mr. Hai thought that he had to find a way to return it. Holding the money and the card, he also contacted the bank's hotline to report the incident, hoping to meet the person who forgot it and get it back.
Immediately, Mr. Luong Van Thanh received a phone call from the customer service hotline of Vietin Bank informing him of the incident.
After contacting and verifying the identity of the person who found his property, at noon on July 15, at the Nghi Hoa Ward Police Station, the two sides proceeded to hand over and receive the lost property. “When I discovered that my account was lost, I was very worried because my family had important matters to attend to. Fortunately, I met a good person and got my money and ATM card back,” said Mr. Thanh.
Confirming the above incident with us, Mr. Ho Minh Thang - Chief of Cua Lo Town Police said: “Mr. Hai is the Chief of Nghi Hoa Ward Police, and has been studying title management at the People's Police Academy (Hanoi). The town is launching many movements to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of the security force (July 12) and the police day (July 20), so he took advantage of the weekend to participate in activities with the town and ward police. His actions are very commendable.”
It is known that as soon as he received the lost account, Mr. Thanh sent a letter of thanks to the Director of the Provincial Police, the Chief of Cua Lo Town Police, the officers and soldiers of Nghi Hoa Ward Police and Mr. Hai himself./.
