Vinh University of Technology and Education celebrates its 55th anniversary.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 11th, Vinh University of Technology and Education held a ceremony to celebrate its 55th anniversary and the opening of the 2015-2016 academic year.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Pham Thi Hai Chuyen - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs; leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and other ministries and central agencies.

Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

At the ceremony, teachers and students of the school together reviewed the glorious traditions throughout 55 years of development and growth. From a vocational school that only trained technical workers to meet the needs of factories and enterprises each year, the school has continuously changed to meet the needs of modernization and industrialization, training high-quality human resources for the local area as well as neighboring regions, domestically and internationally.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen and Comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, praised and acknowledged the efforts of the school's teachers and students over the past 55 years.

In the coming period, the school needs to strengthen management innovation and improve the quality of training with appropriate solutions. Emphasis should be placed on career counseling and job placement for students. Fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training activities should be implemented towards international integration; focusing on building and implementing the school's development strategy for the period 2015-2020, with a vision to 2030, and the project to develop Vinh University of Technology Education into a key national university of technology education.

Dr. Hoang Thi Minh Phuong - the school principal - delivered the opening speech at the ceremony.

In addition, it is necessary to build and develop a team of lecturers that meets the requirements of the national education system; promote the application of information technology; create conditions for students to conduct research and study... to ensure the sustainable development of the university, striving to become a high-quality university in the country by 2020.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented the school with a banner bearing the inscription: "55 years of solidarity, innovation, integration, and development - 1960-2015"; 6 collectives and 15 individuals received commendations from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs for their contributions to the construction and development of the school during the period 2010-2020.

On this occasion, the school also received a certificate of commendation from the Ministry of Education and Training for its outstanding achievements.
