A few hours ago, a friend of Truong Giang shared an image of a text message the comedian sent him. In it, Truong Giang confided that the status update he shared earlier wasn't what people thought it was. "I posted on Facebook to comfort Nha Phuong and people said it was a sarcastic jab, how frustrating! Didn't you see the heart emoji after the status?" - Truong Giang affirmed that he absolutely did not intend to "mock" this year's award winner, Xuan Bac, or the VTV award for missing out on the "Most Impressive Comedian" award.

Truong Giang only wanted to comfort his girlfriend for not receiving the prestigious award and had no negative intentions as people are suggesting.

The VTV Awards 2017 ceremony officially took place on the evening of September 7th. Northern Vietnamese artists were big winners, taking home numerous prestigious awards. Among them, artist Xuan Bac beat four strong contenders – Truong Giang, Tran Thanh, Cong Ly, and Hoai Linh – to win the "Most Impressive Comedian" award.

However, Truong Giang's status update immediately after the awards ceremony caused a stir among many viewers, who suspected he was secretly upset about not receiving the VTV award. Despite the controversy, Truong Giang remained silent and did not share anything with the audience.
