Mountainous school brings Nghe folk songs into daily mid-class activities
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to preserve and promote the folk heritage of Nghe An, in 2014, Hoa Son Secondary School, Anh Son included folk songs in daily activities during breaks and in extracurricular and curricular activities.
This is the first school in the mountainous district of Anh Son to implement this activity, which has created a special mark, helping students appreciate and love folk songs, contributing to orienting the taste for music enjoyment which is becoming increasingly distorted among today's youth.

Present at Hoa Son Secondary School during a break time activity, we were surprised to see the sweet and profound folk songs about the homeland and people of Nghe An being sung and danced very gracefully by the students of the whole school.
Tran Van Linh, a 9B student at Hoa Son Secondary School, shared that thanks to being exposed to folk songs every day, now all 280 students at Hoa Son Secondary School know how to sing folk songs and love folk songs more.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien - Principal of Hoa Son Secondary School said: In order to arouse the passion for singing and love of folk songs in students, thereby preserving and promoting the identity of Nghe folk songs, in 2014 the school introduced Nghe folk songs into daily break time activities and in-class and extracurricular lessons. At first, there were many difficulties, but with the enthusiastic support of parents and the students were also very passionate, so this activity was very successful. Now it has become a traditional activity and is indispensable in the school's break time activities on weekdays. In addition, during extracurricular lessons, the school's Board of Directors directly directed the Literature Group to organize extracurricular activities through folk singing clubs, organizing folk song festivals on holidays.

Teacher Nguyen Van Linh - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Anh Son district said: In Anh Son district, Hoa Son Secondary School is the first school to include Nghe folk songs in collective activities during class time and has created a special mark. In the 2017-2018 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Anh Son district has planned and directed 22 primary schools and 19 secondary schools in the district to include folk songs in extracurricular activities of the school.
Bringing folk songs into schools is not simply teaching folk songs but also helping students realize the great values of folk songs, thereby helping them appreciate and love them. Not only that, bringing folk songs into schools will contribute to orienting and arousing love and passion for the precious heritage of the homeland for the young generation, especially the generation of students sitting in school chairs.
