Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted won 10 first prizes at the National Excellent Student Competition.
This year's national excellent student competition also marked a special milestone for students from Nghe An province, with 113 students winning awards for the first time.
This afternoon (January 19th), the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the 2026 National Excellent Student Examination. This year's examination marks a special milestone for Nghe An province's education sector, with 113 students winning awards for the first time. All of them are from Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School. This is also an unprecedented record for the school.
Among the 113 award-winning students, there were 10 first prizes, 40 second prizes, 31 third prizes, and 32 consolation prizes, an increase of 17 prizes compared to the previous school year.

Notably, the school has 11 students who advanced to the second round of selection for the National Team to participate in regional and international Olympic competitions, including 5 in Mathematics, 2 in Physics, 1 in Chemistry, and 3 in Informatics.

Specifically: Mathematics: 2 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 1 third prize.
Physics: 1 First Prize, 4 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes.
Computer Science: 1 First Prize, 5 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes.
Biology: 5 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 2 Consolation Prizes.
Chemistry: 1 First Prize, 5 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, 2 Consolation Prizes.
Literature subject: 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes.
History subject: 2 second prizes, 1 third prize, 3 consolation prizes.
Geography: 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 1 Third Prize, 3 Consolation Prizes.
French subject: 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, 3 consolation prizes.
English subject: 3 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 2 third prizes.
Russian Language subject: 1 second prize, 1 third prize, 4 consolation prizes.
Japanese Language subject: 3 third prizes, 7 honorable mentions.
Chinese Language subject: 1 second prize, 4 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes.
This year's student excellence competition is highly competitive, with 6,750 contestants from 34 provinces and cities, an increase of 270 contestants compared to the previous school year.

Along with over 6,000 students nationwide, the examination board of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training has 126 candidates from Phan Boi Chau High School.
This is also the first year that the school's student delegation is participating in all 13 subjects: Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese, with 10 students in each subject.

Six students participated in the French language exam. This is also the first year that students from Nghe An have taken the Chinese language exam.


At this competition, the team from Vinh University High School for Gifted Students also excelled, winning 42 awards, including 1 first prize, 8 second prizes, 14 third prizes, and 19 consolation prizes.
The student who won first prize in Mathematics is Phan Van Cuong.
